Smiles all round at the Rotary Family Fun Day

Over 500 people shared in the Rotary Family Fun Day over the weekend at the Blue Train Park in Sea Point, Cape Town. It was an opportunity for the public to engage with Rotarians and see first-hand what projects this organisation is involved with. The Emergency Assistance Volunteer Support (EVS)’s multi-purpose Isuzu truck donated by the Rotary Club of Newlands earlier this year was on display where youngsters could meet some of the volunteer fire fighters. The ShelterBox initiative, which provides emergency shelter and vital supplies to support communities around the world overwhelmed by disaster and humanitarian crisis was also on display, visitors on the day were amazed to learn about the fully-kitted boxes provided to families to help them get back onto their feet after a disaster. Rotarian Dr Tony Davidson said, “It was a great day out for family and friends and at the same time to hear more about and engage with some of the projects that Rotary are involved with. We look forward to an even better and busier Rotary Family Fun Day next year!”
